Julia Hélie is a Postdoctoral Fellow in economics in the Center for Economic Research on Governance, Inequality and Conflict (CERGIC) at ENS Lyon.

She obtained her PhD in economics from the Paris School of Economics (PSE) and Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) in 2025.

 

​Her thesis explores how electoral institutions and resource extraction interact to shape political incentives, governance, environmental outcomes, and local welfare across different contexts.
