As a permanent member

The Center for Economic Research on Governance, Inequality and Conflict (CERGIC) is a research center affiliated to both ENS de Lyon and the CNRS. You can join us as permanent academic staff by applying to associate professor or professor positions open at ENS de Lyon. Alternatively, you can join us through the yearly CNRS recruitment campaign.

Additionally, associate professors or professors within a French university can join us for a period of 6 months to 1 year with the CNRS "accueil en délégation" procedure.

As a PhD student

Funded PhD positions are offered on an annual basis. The call for applications is usually open in January-February for positions starting in September. These are 3-year fully-funded positions. See the call for this year.

As a pre-doc

If you are considering enrolment in a pre-doctoral program before your doctoral thesis, we encourage you to reach out to one of CERGIC's faculty members. An average of two students annually become part of CERGIC's pre-doctoral program.

As a visiting researcher

The ENS de Lyon opens its visiting scholars campaign twice a year (more info here). Visiting scholars can be hosted (and funded) at ENS de Lyon for a period ranging from one to six months.

Longer research stays can also be funded through the Collegium de Lyon, which offers scholarships for 5-to-10-month stays.Interested candidates are invited to contact us at direction.cergic@ens-lyon.fr to discuss their application and research project before applying.
